El Ryokan Tanabe, situado en el centro del distrito histórico de Takayama, es uno de los ryokan con más historia de la ciudad y ofrece habitaciones de estilo japones, conexión WiFi gratuita en todas las zonas, tratamientos de masajes y baños termales interiores y al aire libre que están hechos de rocas y madera de ciprés.

El Tanabe Ryokan está a 1 minuto a pie del centro histórico y del Takayama Jinya, a 5 minutos a pie de la estación de tren JR de Takayama, a 15 minutos en autobús de la localidad tradicional Hida No Sato y a 40 minutos en coche de Shirakawago.
